‘Suzuki’ wins 2 awards at Thailand Car of the Year 2023 Restamping the quality of SUZUKI ERTIGA HYBRID and SUZUKI XL7 And reaffirming both models are value-worthy MPVs

8 March 2023 – Suzuki Motor (Thailand) received 2 awards at the Car of the Year 2023 Awards for two of its popular 7-seater MPVs, the SUZUKI ERTIGA HYBRID and SUZUKI XL7. Both models, have once again, proven they are of outstanding quality and are cost efficient, while being able to cater to the needs of drivers from every lifestyle.

Mr. Minoru Amano, President of Suzuki Motor (Thailand) attended the Car of the Year 2023 Awards, organized by the Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, during which Suzuki was able to bring home 2 awards for two of its top models. The event was held at the Royal Jubilee Hall at Impact Muang Thong Thani and was presided over by Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, who also presented Suzuki with the prestigious awards.

Suzuki won two Car of the Year 2023 Awards as follow:

- SUZUKI ERTIGA HYBRID – BEST HYBRID MPV UNDER 2,500 c.c.

- SUZUKI XL7 – BEST PETROL SUV UNDER 1,500 c.c.

Present at the award ceremony were Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, who presided over the event, together with Mr. Anothai Eamlumnow, Chairman-Organizing Committee “Car of The Year” and Mr. Jaturont Komolmis, Vice President of The Bangkok International Motor Show.

This is the first time that Suzuki has installed the SMART HYBRID technology into the 7-seater MPV like the SUZUKI ERTIGA to meet the diverse demands of customers; bringing SMARTNESS to every route. With the SHVE technology, Suzuki’s new hybrid tech of Integrated Starter Generator or ISG and Lithium-ION battery to increase engine operations which in turn will add fuel economization for the 1.5-litre engine and automatic transmission, making the vehicle for eco-friendly. Apart from the fuel economization capacity of 17.9 km. /liter, the model has been designed for smooth start-off and carbon emission capacity of only 134 g. /km.

The ever popular SUZUKI XL7 is a 7-seater crossover equipped with Suzuki’s unique HEARTECT platform. The model comes with the 1.5-litre K15B engine with 105 horsepower/ 6,000 rounds/minute and torque of 138 newton meter at 4,400 rounds/minute, as well as 4-speed automatic transmission. The model meets its reputation for its reliability for every ride within and outside of the city.

The Car of the Year 2023 Awards has been organized by the Granprix International Plc. to promote the automotive business’ image and Thailand’s automotive industry. The main goal of the event is to select Thailand’s top automotive in each category and present accurate information and data to the general public to assist in their car purchasing decisions.
