15 March 2023 – Bangkok – Suzuki Motor (Thailand) reiterates its role as the leader in the sports eco car market, highlighting that Suzuki Swift’s sales have grown 103% in 2022. Suzuki is now set to upgrade the Suzuki Swift GL with limited edition accessories to cater to the desire of drivers looking for an exciting drive beyond any limit but also a vehicle that is cost-friendly and versatile fit for every lifestyle. The model will be on display for the first time at the 44th Bangkok International Motor Show, after which customers would be able to thoroughly examine the vehicle at every showroom across the country from 17 March 2023 onwards.

This also helps Suzuki maintains its leading role in the sports hatchback eco car market, as it is able to present products that are unique but with great performance and capabilities. This further cemented Suzuki’s reputation and brought about confidence among its customers continually.

As the next step, Mr. Amano said Suzuki is proud to present the “SUZUKI SWIFT GL NEXT – Next to the Edge: The fun of driving beyond any limit”. Suzuki will be upgrading its sports hatchback with a special limited edition accessories to not only liven up the model but to help stimulate the compact car market to become more live as well, while also providing drivers with more option in the ever highly competitive market.

Mr. Amano stressed that despite the highly competitive nature of the market, Suzuki’s SUZUKI SWIFT sports hatchback has continued to be popular among Thai drivers. In 2022, sales reached as high as 8,641 units, increasing by 3% when compared to the figures in 2021. This new upgrade will surely uphold SUZUKI SWIFT’s sales to remain at the top.

Mr. Wallop Treererkngam, Executive Vice President of Suzuki Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. meanwhile, said the SUZUKI SWIFT GL NEXT will retain the unique sports-car DNA found in the Swift model but taking it a step further. He noted that the SWIFT GL is the basis for the success of other accessorized models, reeling in palpable popularity for the Swift. With this in mind, the “SUZUKI SWIFT GL NEXT” is jumping up another notch with the concept, “NEXT to the edge: The fun of driving beyond any limit”, in which the automobile will be decorated with limited edition accessories, created only for Suzuki customers.

The “SUZUKI SWIFT GL NEXT - NEXT to the edge: The fun of driving beyond any limit” comes with a new design of full body skirt which represents freshness, along with the newly created GL Next Edition Sticker Set to show off its uniqueness.

Kicking up the design another notch with Kevlar decorations at the console and door panels. This upgraded model is also equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen and a stereo that plays MP3 and WMA files, as well as a Bluetooth system for smart connections, where drivers will never miss any calls or communications while on the road.

SUZUKI SWIFT GL NEXT features will be maintained, including the D-Shape steering wheel, along with the extended legroom and driver seat which can be adjusted in 4 directions.

The model will be equipped with the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K12M Benzyne DUALJET engine, which helps to increase the combustion capacity of the engine. The engine has 83 horsepower at 6,000 rounds/ minute and torque at 108 newton meter at 4,400 rounds/ minute, CVT automatic transmission, E20 gasohol compliant with a fuel economization of 23 km./ liter.

Suzuki’s special HEARTECT platform ensures the highest level of safety, as it not only decrease the vehicle’s weight but retain its strength and helps to increase fuel efficiency. The TECT body structure increase toughness, while the NVH system helps stabilize the vehicle, reducing vibrations and ambient noise.

The TCS system, on the other hand, helps maintain better car control on slippery roads and curves. The car is installed with the ABS and EBD braking system and the ESP stabilizer which helps the car to move off stably, whereas the IDLING STOP system is perfect for city drives, as it reduces fuel consumption while the car is in an idle mode. The Hill Hold Control assures that all drives are even safer, as the system assists in moving off from steep roads. Both the driver’s and front seat are installed with SRS airbags to ensure the highest road safety in case of accidents.
